Nature’s Architects - Caddis Cathedral

So what does the Caddis fly make its nest out of? Where do it get all that stuff?  This is the question that inspired our Caddis Cathedral.

Caddis Cathedral, otherwise known as the ‘Cathedral of Found Stuff’, takes its inspiration from the mobile homes of the Caddisfly larvae, who make their characteristic dwellings of material they find in their surroundings.  That makes it possible to tell where they originate from. Our Caddis-cathedral, borrows from the tall thin structure of the Caddisfly larvae and  also makes a nod to Antonio Gaudi’s Basilica de la Sagrada Familia. It appropriates found architectural elements from the area surrounding the site and the wider city of London rooftops, stairs, windows…doors, making it very specific to this place.
